Chipping Up

It’s been awhile since my last post, but I’ve still been in the game (a little).  My run at Cake Poker continues as I took the 59 gold chips and used them to enter some larger Gold Chip tournaments.  Thanks to some tight conservative play, I was able to cash in a couple of them.  So, after withdrawing all my money from the site I ended up with a small bankroll again.  I managed to do the same thing at Full Tilt thanks to their Fantasy Poker promotion.  In both cases, I took the small amount of cash I won and proceeded to rebuild my account playing mainly SNGs.  At one point I had both accounts over $100, but ended up blowing through the Full Tilt account last weekend.  Getting bored, I decided to buy into some $20 and $30 SNGs to see if I could really strike gold.  Unfortunately, the poker gods didn’t like the idea and I shot my new found bankroll in the ass.  By Sunday night I was playing my last $2 in what would be the final SNG.  I told myself it was all free money, but nevertheless it seems kind of stupid now.

Getting back on track, I decided to put my real bankroll with Poker Stars.  I didn’t like giving them my Social Security number just to transfer money, but the options are few if you want to play with a top site.  In the end I figured their eChecks option was the best program available to U.S. players.  It’s direct and free.   I’m planning to go back to grinding cash games, so time will tell.
